Support That Meets Young People Where They Are

Every young person has strengths and potential. Challenges at home, at school, or in the community can make it harder to see a way forward. People United of Louisiana’s youth and family focus brings education, advocacy, prevention, and practical support together.

We work to help young people and families understand their choices, connect with helpful resources, and make plans for the future. Support should be responsive to each young person’s circumstances, goals, and voice.

Our areas of focus

  • Education and advocacy

Helping youth and families learn about available resources, ask questions, and participate in decisions that affect them.

  • Human trafficking prevention education

Helping youth and the adults who support them recognize exploitation, understand safety concerns, and know how to seek help.

  • Prevention of repeat justice involvement

Helping youth identify goals, strengthen positive connections, and access services that support a successful return to school, family, and community life.

  • Workforce development

Helping youth explore careers and connect with opportunities to build the skills needed for employment.
