Mental Health Rehabilitation
Mental Health Rehabilitation provides community-based support to help individuals manage the effects of mental illness, develop daily living skills, and improve their ability to function independently.
At People United of Louisiana LLC, our goal is to support individuals in building stability, confidence, independence, and stronger connections to their homes and communities.
What Is Mental Health Rehabilitation?
Mental Health Rehabilitation consists of medically necessary outpatient services designed to help individuals:
- Manage symptoms associated with mental illness
- Develop independent living skills
- Improve social and emotional functioning
- Build healthy coping and communication skills
- Connect with community resources
- Maintain the highest level of functioning possible
- Reduce the need for more intensive levels of care when appropriate
Services are provided in community-based settings whenever appropriate and medically necessary.
Who May Benefit?
Eligibility depends on an individual’s diagnosis, functional needs, medical necessity, and applicable Louisiana Medicaid requirements.
Children & Adolescents
Youth experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral conditions that affect their daily functioning may benefit from appropriate support. Conditions may include ADHD, ODD, PTSD, impulse-control disorders, and other qualifying conditions.
Support may focus on emotional regulation, healthy decision-making, communication, coping skills, and positive community involvement.
Adults
Adults living with serious and persistent mental health conditions, including conditions such as schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, or bipolar disorder, may also qualify when the condition creates significant functional limitations.
Education & Prevention
We believe prevention and education are important parts of building healthier communities.
Our community-focused efforts may include:
- Youth mental health education and awareness
- Human trafficking education and prevention
- Recidivism prevention, education, and positive decision-making
- Workforce development and employment readiness
- Connecting individuals and families with appropriate community resources
These efforts are intended to help individuals develop practical skills, recognize risks, make informed decisions, and identify positive opportunities for their future.
Our Goal
Our goal is to help individuals receive appropriate support, develop greater independence, and remain connected to their homes and communities whenever possible.
Through community-based services, education, prevention, and advocacy, People United of Louisiana LLC works with individuals, families, providers, and community partners to promote stability, opportunity, and quality of life.
